To the north of Tbilisi, 72 km away is Ananuri Castle located on the Aragvi River. It dates back to the 17th century with fortifications and towers enclosing two churches. Facades of the churches are furnished with interesting carvings and the interior features colourful frescoes.
Heading for Baleti Lake you pass by Dusheti. This town is situated on the foothills of the Greater Caucasus at an elevation of 900 meters.
We have a picnic at the beach on Bazaleti Lake. It is distinguished by its spectacular surroundings and convenient location, just 60 km away from Tbilisi. The area housed a medieval town and has become a well-known site. You can swim in the lake where the maximum depth is 7 m.
