Elisabed Ichilauri is actively engaged with knitting. She knits mainly socks and furnishes them with traditional Tushetian ornaments. At her homestay, you'll find the socks proudly exhibited and a shining example of Tushetian handicraft. She also makes handicrafts of her neighbours open and available to travellers who are curious and interested in the region's rich and unique style.

At Elisabed's place, in addition to knitted socks, you'll find hats, bags and mats that are also made of thick Tushetian felt. If you are interested in the Tushetian handicraft techniques, Elisabed will be more than happy to tell you some. The tradition of dying threads with local, natural resources still lives and is practices here. Tushetian handicrafts' bright and vivid colors owe to the natural resources used to make them!
