Adventure Club Jomardi

Adventure Club Jomardi lets you experience Georgia from different angles: via rafting on wild rivers or trekking in elaborate mountains, climbing on glaciers or biking on the paths to valleys and hills, exploring cultural monuments and nature on foot or while riding a horse.

Jomardi means ‘adventurer' in old Georgian language. Our nature provides a wide scope of activities, for both the extreme and tranquil experiences. For us, it is essential that the extreme tours are combined with safety and to set-up tourism that does not destroy its resources. Everywhere you go, you see the historical and cultural heritage of Georgia, not to mention the extraordinary hospitality.

With Adventure Club Jomardi, we will make an adventurer out of you (if you are not already) and you will certainly return to Georgia soon, with more friends!

Caring for destination

This tour provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:

On this tour, interaction with the locals and learning about their traditions of games and handicraft help keep this heritage alive and well.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

On this tour we learn about the local legends, stories, and traditions. The locals in the Tusheti region have adjusted their lifestyle to nature. In the past, due to Tusheti's remoteness, they used to live on their own, without any contact with nearby regions, having everything they needed for their own well-being and survival. Nowadays things are different and they are much more open and less isolated, although Tusheti still remains one of the most remote areas of Georgia.

Traditional games and handicraft are preserved and still practiced by the locals. They are ready to teach you some of their games, such as "distance jumping", ball games, and many others, and maybe even give you a prize if you win! The women of the area boast extraordinary hand-made handicrafts using traditional techniques. They sew socks, make bags, scarves and other items with thick Tushetian felt and use natural colours for dying the threads. If you are willing, they are more than happy to tell you about the local traditions of handicrafts and related stories. They give you the opportunity to experience first hand the unique identity of this remote region, a gift which encourages their local traditions to persist and propagate via tourism and cultural exchange.
