Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:

Hotel Rcheuli Marani was named after the wine cellar that was discovered during the time the hotel was being constructed (‘marani' literally means ‘wine cellar' in Georgian). The staff of the hotel preserved the original shape of the 18th century cellar and now are it is being utilised as an educational source for travellers.

You can taste traditional Georgian wine in the cellar. If you are interested in winemaking technology, the staff teaches you how to make Georgian wine, giving you a chance to take part in the harvest and trying out the vine press.

The staff can provide a personalised bottled Georgian wine with your label. For that you have to rent a row of grapes and make wine that will be kept in your personal jug and be bottled with your label.
