As part of whl travel, we understand the benefits of sustainable tourism and are proud to help encourage responsible travelling at our destination, especially as tourism develops.
We provide eco-friendly tours that provide economic support to small mountainous regions, such as Svaneti, Khevsureti, Shatili and Kazbegi by making the most use of the local service. We stay in local guesthouses, hire local horses and employ local guides to lead us through the mountains. Visitors coming to Tbilisi are guaranteed to experience a local way of life and observe the incredible scenery as well as the rich culture in our wonderful country.
We also offer intensive guide trainings in skiing and rafting and are a member of the Georgian Tourism Association that is dedicated to promote cooperation between tourism companies in Georgia and to develop a relationship between the public and private sector. The foundation also focuses on improving accessibility of tourism information and capacity building and quality management for tourism services that help us promote sustainable tourism in Tbilisi and Caucasus Mountains and contribute to tourism development in this area.
We are thrilled to show visitors our country with its diverse history and preserved traditions. Some of our preferred places are Mount Ushba, with an elevation of 4690m above sea level, the Ethnological Museums of Svaneti, where people can see traditional Georgian icons and ornaments on display, as well as Svanetian towers - still preserved and, therefore, listed among UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Meet the team
Meet the team of Adventure Club Jomardi! Jomardi literally means "adventurer" and such is everyone on the team. Meet Mamuka Burduli, who graduated from Tbilisi Technical University with a degree in Engineering. He worked as an engineer in a ski resort in Gudauri and worked as a heli-guide in the winters and a trekking guide in the summers for seven years. In his experience, Mamuka enjoyed the opportunity to meet all the diverse people while travelling and giving tours and realised the advantage of tourism. So, in 2000 he founded Adventure Club Jomardi. He specialises in rafting, biking, trekking, horseback riding, skiing and snowboarding and speaks Georgian, Russian, English and German. Aside from extreme sports, he also enjoys tennis and football. Mamuka's personal slogan is "Love and Cherish Nature!" and this is exactly how he tailors his tours.
Ia Kverghelidze will most likely answer the phone if you call our office. She works as the tour manager and her responsibilities include booking hotels and making itineraries for tours. What she enjoys most about her work is that she has the opportunity to deal with many foreigners. She loves hiking and ever since her childhood she has spent every summer with her family in a mountainous resort in western Georgia. Her other passion is music and before working for Adventure Club Jomardi, she was a personal assistant for a German composer in Tbilisi.
What we do
Here at Adventure Club Jomardi, we are local to Tbilisi and provide all sorts of tours to allow visitors to experience the stunning environment and also be acquainted with the rich cultural history of Georgia. When we started, we focused mainly on white water rafting and today we take about 1000 tourists on rafting trips per year. Since 2003, we expanded to trekking, biking and climbing tours, and in 2007 we started running our cultural tours. Varying from winter to summer, we provide many tours that are "off the beaten track" and offer adventures that introduce participants not only to the diverse landscape of Georgia - from glaciers to subtropics - but also give people the rare chance to encounter the rich culture, history and cuisine of the people.
When in Tbilisi, we introduce tourists to all our favourite local attractions and only deal with local shops, restaurants and accommodation. We are happy to provide all the best local advice and information for travellers - so you can truly maximise your stay while in Tbilisi!
