30/10/2008 - 30/10/2008
Place of event: Rioni river, West Georgia
End of rafting season is a lively festival. The day begins with rafting, as always but Georgian feast with diverse dishes, fresh Mtsvadi (barbecue) and Georgian wine gives the day the nuance of a festival.
As usual, competitions are held and hilarious sounds are heard during rafting but the feeling that due to weather conditions they no more have the opportunity to raft and sway Georgian wild / quiet rivers till May makes everything seem extraordinary.
After rafting a new ceremony begins - traditional Georgian feast with elaborate toasts. The wine and warm atmosphere soon finds effect: rafters are summarizing the passed season, recalling funny stories they came across during the season. They do not look sad but ready to bid the rivers till the next season.
