This day Georgians celebrate Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The day itself is an embodiment of Georgian style of life: feasts full of delicious meals and elaborate toasts, polyphonic songs and amazing dances follow the liturgy that is held in the morning at Gergeti Trinity Church.

Rtveli – Vine Harvest in Kakheti

Place: Kakheti Region, southeastern Georgia

The vine harvest, called Rtveli, is one of the major events in Kakheti Region - rich in vine species. A mix of white, red and dark red grapes, green meadows, the colorful clothes the people wear all have a glamorous charm with hilarious voices and songs that accompany the process.
