Biking in Georgia

Biking in Georgia

Georgia offers good opportunities for biking: untrodden mountain paths lead you to the remote villages, interesting fortresses, medieval dwellings and ancient churches. You can choose one-day, two-day and longer biking tours, adjusting to your time-frame.

Join our short biking tours, which are ideal getaways after busy week. Georgia has many historical sites and, therefore, biking tours can be easily combined with cultural trips.

From the 1st of May, 2011, we, Adventure Club Jomardi offers one-day biking tours every Saturday. Departure will be at 10:00 from our office: 93, Vazha-Pshavela Avenue, Tbilisi, Georgia.

There are some options for one- and two-day biking tours in Georgia:

- Green Biking Tour to Ananuri Castle. Enjoy stunning beauty of Zhinvali Reservoir and visit Ananuri Castle. The tour lasts for one day.

- Biking to Bazaleti Lake. Bazaleti Lake is picturesque and after biking to the lake, you can swim, have delicious lunch and come back to Tbilisi in one day.

- Biking Around Tianeti Town. Tianeti is a small townlet located off the mountains. We visit Zhinvali Reservoir, Tianeti and Saguramo. This is a two-day tour.

- Explore the Basin of the Mtkvari River. During two days we see Kintsvisi Monastery Complex, explore Dzama Valley, Borjomi Gorge and Borjom-Kharagauli National Park.

Are you eager to plan your own biking trip? Rent mountain bikes and determine the route. If you are interested in short tours, we suggest some Self-Guided Biking Tours around Tbilisi.

It is possible to experience more challenging and thrilling biking tours. Adventure Club Jomardi offers 12-day biking tour, which is guided by Jumber Lezhava – the World Bicycle Traveller, a Guinness Record Holder and a UNESCO World Sportsman and Citizen. While cycling across the high passes of Georgia you will visit remote mountainous villages and fortresses of northern Georgia, cave cities in eastern and western Georgia and end up in the coastal city.
